Nervous - but ready...
So Celine, since I know you are watching – because you have nothing better to do with your time than read a blog about finding a gay boyfriend – this jump is dedicated to you.

Here is another couple of pictures and the video of my skydiving trip on Sunday. Nervous - but ready... Now a little backstory – the instructor and my friend John had been talking about Montreal – and when I think Montreal, I think of my favorite Canadian: Celine Dion. So I dedicated my jump to her. Immediately following that statement, I realized I would survive the fall – not because of the Power of Celine Dion (which is quite great in its own right) – but because I knew I would live to be ridiculed for actually dedicating the jump to her and then justifying it by saying “She might watch it… who knows.” So Celine, since I know you are watching – because you have nothing better to do with your time than read a blog about finding a gay boyfriend – this jump is dedicated to you. My friend Christian is moving to Shanghai - and while I'm terribly sad for me, I'm incredibly happy for him. He is one of the first people I met in GMCLA. He's great - and I will miss his spirit and his smile very much. So this is for you Christian, because 1) it's fitting, and 2) I know you love it. This isn't goodbye - it's definitely "see you soon." Here is the official GMCLA Hairspray Sing-Along Flash Mob video. See if you can spot me! So I have sad news on all fronts. I had to spend nearly $500 on my car today. And that sucks.
But - I was also going to upload the video I took of the Hairspray Sing-Along Flashmob - but can't get it to work and/or upload onto YouTube... so that won't be appearing on my blog either. HOWEVER - the video I posted before is much better. So I'm glad I have that. Here's a video of the flash mob from last night's Hairspray Sing-Along with the GMCLA. I'm trying to get my video uploaded, but it's proving tricky right now. But this one is good: Last night was the Hairspray sing-along with GMCLA at Hollywood Forever Cemetery - I had never been to a cemetery screening before - but this was great.
There was also a FLASH MOB! - which I got a little video of, so I will post that later tonight because I'm running a bit late for work right now. I spent most of today in a recording studio singing for a student film soundtrack. It was seriously a blast. I was also able to get some GMCLA friends in on the fun. But since I was the only tenor, I got to sing both the solos and the tenor back-up part. So this soundtrack will be a bit Steve Scott heavy.
Regardless - it was so amazingly fun to be in the studio all day pretending to be a total pop star. I'm heading to West Hollywood tonight to pass out fliers for Sunday's Hairspray Sing-Along with GMCLA.
If you see me, say hi! I'm so excited for the Dolly Parton concert tomorrow at the Hollywood Bowl.
I'm also very excited for this weekend when not only do I get to help some friends move into a new apartment - BUT ALSO, I get to sing the National Anthem with the Gay Men's Chorus at major league soccer game!!!! It's the first ever Equality Night hosted by a major league team and I can't wait. It's going to be awesome. You should come! Click on the soccer ball below to check out tickets: Well, I didn't get a solo in this upcoming concert - but that's ok. I'm totally fine with it. I was just auditioning for the joy of auditioning anyway. Would it have been nice? Yes. Was it necessary? No. I'm still so amazed and grateful that I am part of the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles at all - I don't need to worry myself over a solo.
In other news - the Cuddlers have a performance coming up later in the week that will be nice. It's for a memorial service - so while it's not exactly "nice" that we are there - it's nice that they felt we were worthy of a very solemn and personal ceremony. And finally - I think I'm getting sick. I have had a scratchy throat for about three days - and today it progressed into a cough and the headache got a bit worse. I'm sure I'm being a slight pansy - but I don't feel 100% and that sucks. Tomorrow's a big day for New York State - let's see if their senators pull through on the marriage equality vote. |
