Yesterday, I also tried to be uber-manly and change the back blinker light in my car. Here's what happened. First - I got greasy: But a true man doesn't care about grease, etc. So I powered through... And then something else happened:

Started the day like this:Got a haircut and looked like this:Showered and dressed and on my way to pick up Liam like this:Picked up Liam to go shop for costumes like this:And then we changed into our costumes and looked like this:As you can see, I'm trying a new look. We'll see how it goes.
And if you can't read my little sticker - I'm wearing a haz-mat suit and my badge identifies me as an employee at the Bachmann Center for Reparative Therapy. (And I carried around a prayer book.) (PS - Click on the picture of Liam & me to be redirected to his website - 12 Goals, 12 Months.) I just saw "Weekend" - and it was SOOOO good.
Check it out if you can - or wait for it to be released on video or something - but see this movie! (Click the picture below to be sent to the website for trailers and showtimes!) So, in New Hampshire - even though a majority of the residents there are fine with Marriage Equality - the legislature is taking its first steps towards revoking that civil right from same-sex couples. Oh politicians, I love how quickly you forget that you were elected to represent that people... Anyway - my friend (and I'm throwing that term out there fast and loose because even though we're friends on both Facebook and Twitter, I'm sure he's blocked me) Jeremy Hooper who runs the blog "Good As You" caught the National Organization For Marriage (that opposes Marriage Equality) in the act of trying to forge support for this legislation. Click the picture below to read more: And Part Two: And then Rachel Maddow got wind of the story - and told the rest of America. I can't embed the video in here - but click the picture below to go to the site where you can see the video. It's worth it: Thank you Jeremy for your amazing efforts - and thank you to Rachel for spreading the word. "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice" - Martin Luther King, Jr. Ok - first and foremost: THIS HAPPENED!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! We had a fire drill at the office building today - and as we were walking up the exit ramp, BAM! there was Admiral Adama. And I nearly fainted - but I asked if I could get a picture - and he said yes. And there it is. So... then I had that to carry me through the day - but I also was able to look forward to an advance screening of "Immortals" - and let me show you what I was able to look forward to: Oh! Why hello there Henry Cavill and Kellan Lutz! Thank you so much for being shirtless through THE ENTIRE MOVIE!!! And then I was driving home when my phone chirped - and I (obviously) waited until I was safely parked at home before checking it - and thank God I did - because I was greeted with the following: SWEET MOTHER OF HOLY JESUS!!!!!! TODAY WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!! Can you actually choose to have a good day? Can a person make a decision that today (especially a Monday) won't suck?
I think I've tried this before - and it has always backfired. Like the day I decide to have a good day is the day someone else decides to send me a packet of paperwork that is so far from correct that it takes me two days of not deciding to have a good day just to fix it. Maybe on a Monday deciding to have a good day is actually deciding to call in sick... Today, I had brunch with Sherri (I love brunches). I had a breakfast burrito (I love breakfast burritos).
And then we went and saw a production of "tick, tick... BOOM!" (the musical by Jonathan Larson). And it was ok. I'm not going to say it is/was my favorite musical - but it was nice. The supporting actor & actress were great. The lead was a little intense. But it was nice. (I love musicals). After that, I went to West Hollywood for dinner and a movie - with a guy - it wasn't a date - but I told him I would blog about it as if it was... We had dinner at Marix (I love margaritas). and then we went back to his place to watch the movie "Tangled" because I had never seen it - and it's a musical, and why not just make it a day of musicals and mexican food, right? The ride went really well. Here's two pics to prove that I went. The halfway point. So that's me, Andy, Kelly, and Even. And look at how foggy (and cold and wet) it was! (Pity me!) The after party. And then Even wanted a picture of just the two of us - but when I crouched down to take it next to him, he just took it at this angle so I still look goofy.
... or maybe I just look goofy in general. Regardless, it was a lot of fun - and they gave away a bunch of prizes (I didn't win any... but whatever). We ended in the parking lot of Cynergy Cycles in Santa Monica - and they had some sales, etc. Then I came home and took a nap, because I'm lazy like that - and now I'm on my way to hang out with Liam in West Hollywood for a margarita and a healthy dose of gossip. So far, a great weekend. I am getting up tomorrow at 5a to go on the first Training Ride for the AIDS/LifeCycle.
