I'm so EXCITED!!!
Last night was a lot of fun. I was able to hand out the cards to a few people - and actually talk to some of them. So if I gave you a card last night, Hello! Welcome to my site.
I don't really have any other news. So I'll just end this post with a fact or two about me. Fact: My favorite cereal is Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Fact: On an airplane, I prefer the window seat. What else do you want to know? Leave me a comment or send a message through the Contact page. It'll be fun, I promise! HAPPY EARTH DAY!
In honor of Earth Day, I will refrain from burning the pile of tires behind my house until tomorrow. You're welcome. ALSO - HAPPY ONE MONTH ANNIVERSARY to YOU! It was one month ago today that I launched the site and started spreading the word about the search for The 122. Thanks to everyone who has helped, commented, contacted, told a friend, etc. Keep spreading the word and I'm sure I will find one of The 122 soon. The following picture was in the original banner on my site so I didn't include it in the photo gallery. But I changed the banner before launching the site (one month ago tomorrow!), and forgot to post it in the photo gallery. So I'll post it here, and then add it to the gallery tonight.
Anyway - special shout-out to Sam for taking the picture. It's one of my fav's! I'm still completely shocked at what happened last night! (Check post "What Are The Odds?" below.) Yes, I saw the waitress talking to the guy - but it didn't seem like anything other than normal waitress/patron banter. I was only going to ask her opinion because I thought maybe she might have had better gaydar than I do. But, wow - I'm so happy (and at the same time, so embarrassed) that I asked.
ALSO - I'm still completely shocked by the article in The Advocate. It's just crazy awesome. For the context of this post, check out the following: http://www.towleroad.com/2011/04/kobe.html
Dear Mr. Bryant, I get it. I understand that in the heat of competition, things happen. Fouls are called that you don't agree with - and things are said that you might not mean and can't take back. I totally get it. But did you have to call the ref the "f" word? Maybe a little harsh, right? Whether the ref is actually gay or straight, I think we need apologies all around. And in the spirit of good sportsmanship, I will start. Mr. Bryant, I'm sorry. I'm sorry that you are followed by cameras at all times - and aren't even allowed a moment of frustration without it being captured and commented on. It must be tough to have things thrown back in your face constantly from all sides. And I'm also sorry that you will be reminded over the next few days of your status as a role model. And as such, you must be held to a higher standard. That has to be a difficult burden to carry at times. For that, you would totally have my sympathy - until I remind myself that you make MILLIONS OF DOLLARS! After that, I have to say, Kobe, buddy, when the going gets tough, and fouls are called, and you get ejected from the game, you should probably just SUCK IT UP! Buy yourself something pretty, and keep your mouth shut! Sincerely, Steve PS - If you or anyone you know (maybe a teammate) might be looking for a date, well - feel free to look around. I'm (obviously) available. Alright, so I'm leaving for Nebraska today. I'm excited - but nervous. I'm always nervous to go back home.
Regardless - I'm not sure how often I will be able to update the blog while I'm there. But I will try to do it at least once a day. IN THE MEANTIME! I will still be able to get emails from this site (from the Contact Steve page) - so feel free to email me questions and I'll answer them as soon as I can. And keep spreading the word! |
