In any case, I'm excited it's Friday. I'm excited about the book I bought yesterday (Clash of Kings - the sequel to Game of Thrones). And I'm excited to sing some great music this weekend with The Cuddlers (the coolest a cappella group ever)!
Alright, so the kids day program went well. No one was injured, lost or crying. So that's a success, right?

Today is National Take Our Daughters & Sons To Work Day.
If your company is participating, please take a moment to tell your HR person that you appreciate the hard work that they put in to planning events and activities to keep 70 kids (yes, seventy children) busy. But, today I'm just going to count my blessings. Yesterday, there were major storms in the Southern US. I have a friend who lost his home in the tornado that hit Tuscaloosa. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and all those affected yesterday. I hope your day is filled with all the administrivia your little professional heart desires.
Aaron Copland ROCKS!!!!
I just came into my room where I had left my iTunes Radio on to Classical KDFC out of San Francisco. They were playing Fanfare For The Common Man - and that's pretty awesome. And it leads me to reveal the following fact about me: I love classical music. I do. I'm not sure how it happened - it's not like central Nebraska was a haven to classical artists and/or performances - but there's just something completely awesome about classical music. That's not to say that I don't enjoy other types of music - pop, jazz, rock, country, showtunes (hello!), etc. But how great is a bottle of wine and some classical music at the Hollywood Bowl!?! (Answer: really great) I'm not a crazy snob about it. I won't talk your ear off about which Brandenburg Concerto is my favorite (cough - No. 3), but you might get into my car and it might be on the radio. Of course, you might get in my car and I'm blasting the latest hit from Young Jeezy, too. It could really go either way. (Alright, I'll admit it - I have no idea who Young Jeezy is - but I'm sure he has some jams.) I'm hoping it's just the fact that it's windy today - but my throat is scratchy and I feel run-down. Maybe it's just allergies? In any case, I'm not happy about it.
Also, I had a dream that I was playing the piano for church - and I was really good. Don't get me wrong, I play the piano - but not that well. So I woke up this morning and all I want to do is play the piano. But, I guess I'll go to work. Rent is due soon and all. And with that in mind, I'll drive to work wailing Destiny's Child's "Bills, Bills, Bills." Last night was a lot of fun. I was able to hand out the cards to a few people - and actually talk to some of them. So if I gave you a card last night, Hello! Welcome to my site.
I don't really have any other news. So I'll just end this post with a fact or two about me. Fact: My favorite cereal is Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Fact: On an airplane, I prefer the window seat. What else do you want to know? Leave me a comment or send a message through the Contact page. It'll be fun, I promise! Alright - I'm heading to West Hollywood tonight for an event. This will be the first time I make the trek to WeHo with the business cards. It's the first major push to promote the site to the intended audience of gay men here in LA.
I'm sure I will go and have a great time - but I'm actually really nervous. I was at a bar with a friend a few days ago and tried to hand out a couple of cards to women - and was totally rejected. Literally. One handed the card back to me - and the other refused to take it altogether. Granted, they were women and therefore not the intended audience - but rejection is rejection. Here's hoping for better luck tonight. This morning I woke up and looked at myself in the mirror and thought that I am losing weight.
Does that make me excited? Yes Will I spend the day celebrating by doing nothing but eat pizza and watch TV? Yes Anyway - the whole "I look skinny in the morning and then not-so-skinny at night" thing drives me nuts. I should plan more dates to take place in the morning. HAPPY EARTH DAY!
In honor of Earth Day, I will refrain from burning the pile of tires behind my house until tomorrow. You're welcome. ALSO - HAPPY ONE MONTH ANNIVERSARY to YOU! It was one month ago today that I launched the site and started spreading the word about the search for The 122. Thanks to everyone who has helped, commented, contacted, told a friend, etc. Keep spreading the word and I'm sure I will find one of The 122 soon. The following picture was in the original banner on my site so I didn't include it in the photo gallery. But I changed the banner before launching the site (one month ago tomorrow!), and forgot to post it in the photo gallery. So I'll post it here, and then add it to the gallery tonight.
Anyway - special shout-out to Sam for taking the picture. It's one of my fav's! |
