Here is the official GMCLA Hairspray Sing-Along Flash Mob video. See if you can spot me!

So I have sad news on all fronts. I had to spend nearly $500 on my car today. And that sucks.

But - I was also going to upload the video I took of the Hairspray Sing-Along Flashmob - but can't get it to work and/or upload onto YouTube... so that won't be appearing on my blog either. 

HOWEVER - the video I posted before is much better. So I'm glad I have that.

Last night was the Hairspray sing-along with GMCLA at Hollywood Forever Cemetery - I had never been to a cemetery screening before - but this was great. 


There was also a FLASH MOB! - which I got a little video of, so I will post that later tonight because I'm running a bit late for work right now. 

I spent most of today in a recording studio singing for a student film soundtrack. It was seriously a blast. I was also able to get some GMCLA friends in on the fun. But since I was the only tenor, I got to sing both the solos and the tenor back-up part. So this soundtrack will be a bit Steve Scott heavy.

Regardless - it was so amazingly fun to be in the studio all day pretending to be a total pop star. 

I purchased sheet music from Hollywood Sheet Music yesterday - and although I was nervous to go in and shop around due to my general lack of knowledge - it was a great place with a great staff. I had a lot of fun. I highly recommend Hollywood Sheet Music to anyone who is in the area and needs pretty much any sheet music (classical, contemporary, Broadway, etc.) 

And the sheet music brings to me my next point - SAVE THE DATE! - I'm planning Gay Day 2011 and it's gonna be awesome! October 1, 2011 will mark the ten year anniversary of me coming out of the closet - and I can't wait. 

I'm so excited for the Dolly Parton concert tomorrow at the Hollywood Bowl.

I'm also very excited for this weekend when not only do I get to help some friends move into a new apartment - BUT ALSO, I get to sing the National Anthem with the Gay Men's Chorus at  major league soccer game!!!! It's the first ever Equality Night hosted by a major league team and I can't wait. It's going to be awesome.

Here's a quick wrap-up from my first real audition in Los Angeles.

I'm hoping it's just the fact that it's windy today - but my throat is scratchy and I feel run-down. Maybe it's just allergies? In any case, I'm not happy about it.

Also, I had a dream that I was playing the piano for church - and I was really good. Don't get me wrong, I play the piano - but not that well. So I woke up this morning and all I want to do is play the piano. But, I guess I'll go to work. Rent is due soon and all. 

And with that in mind, I'll drive to work wailing Destiny's Child's "Bills, Bills, Bills."

I woke up with Whitney Houston's "Didn't We Almost Have It All" stuck in my head - and I'm asking myself two things: 
          1) Why?
          2) Could there be a song with a more depressing title? 

Sure, sure - the lyrics talk about recapturing the feeling - but wow. Can you imagine if someone came up to you and said "Didn't we almost have it all? You know you'll never love that way again." 

I am not sure how I would feel about that. Part of me would want to tell them to stop putting words in my mouth - and I'm sure the other part would wonder if they were right. 

Damn you hypothetical situation!
