I'm excited to see my family - and meet my newest little nephew. I'm also excited to go golfing. I may not be very good - but I love going golfing.
I'll be sure to take pictures - it's time I updated the photo gallery anyway.

I will be on a plane to Nebraska in less than 24 hours. I'm heading back for the Greeley Irish Festival. It's a big deal for the village in the middle of the state. This is the 5th Annual Irish Festival - so it's an even bigger deal.

Listen, I love a good theme party just as much as the next gay - but my BIGGEST concern is whether I'm taking it too far.
If I'm going to a theme party for "Back To School" - do I show up in just what I used to wear to school - or do I show up in a full cheerleading uniform? Do I just throw on a polo shirt and call it a day - or should I bring a backpack full of drama club fliers, a camera to take pictures for the yearbook, my french horn just in case the pep band breaks out into "Gimme Some Lovin'?" How much is too much!?! What do you do when you meet an actor on the street just going about their day like a normal person: Do you approach them? Say hi? Ask to take a picture with them? ... or just awkward walk past while staring?
I'll most likely go with the last choice... ugh. Tonight I went to an event in WeHo for the USC Law School LGBT Organization amazingly named "OutLaw."
While the event wasn't a success in terms of me finding a member of the 122 - it was great to be in a room full of incredibly bright people who will be (or hopefully be) a driving force in the future of the LGBT community. Of course, not I have Whitney Houston stuck in my head... "I believe that children are our future..." Regardless - it as a very optimistic evening. And it was at Fiesta Cantina - and here's a little secret - I rarely turn down an opportunity to have a margarita. (Rocks, No Salt.) ("Rocks, No Salt" is TOTALLY going to be the name of the gay boy band super group I'm forming with Lance Bass, Ricky Martin, Adam Lambert and Sam Sparro.) ((JK - I don't know any of those guys, but if I did, we'd totally start a gay boy band super group.)) Alright, bear with me here - I'm still trying to find the perfect "Oh that picture, no I didn't take it myself." angle - and so far I'm failing. Not that taking pictures of yourself is horrible or anything - but I don't want every picture on this website to be a self-portrait. I'd like to be able to look at a few of the pictures on here and say something like: No, I just like being artistically off-center and leaning towards the lens. No, I was helping an elderly neighbor down a non-existant flight of stairs in my apartment and she just happened to have a camera and just happened to take my picture - totally unexpected. But, I won't resort to taking a picture in the mirror of my bathroom... Or will I...?And - is it just me or does this shirt color totally match my eye color? Holding my shirt over a majority of my face is my "go to" pose when that elderly neighbor is around with her camera. Goddammit, Marcella - no more photos!I was actually going to list a few more examples (six other examples, to be exact) - but this post is narcissistic enough. Those will have to wait for another day. It never ends well. I should just stop while I'm ahead.
Last night, I was having trouble falling asleep. I don't think it was like a panic attack or anything - but I just kept thinking "There has to be something more." I felt very unproductive... in life... (so dramatic).
So I grabbed a notebook and wrote a few goals down - and although some may seem pretentious - just bear with me, ok? Here's what I wrote: As I enter into my 29th year, I would like to focus on: - leaving a mark (in life, but also a tattoo might be cool) - bettering myself (mentally, physically, etc.) - bettering my community - staying in touch - family - de-cluttering (in all aspects of my life) And there you have it - my goals for the next 15 months. I'm expecting some (hopefully) big news in the next day or two. I just want to know the outcome already.
In the meantime, are you still saving the date? October 1? It's gonna be awesome. OH MY WORD - there's only ONE MONTH LEFT until GAY DAY TEN!!!
I'm so excited!!!! Save the Date - October 1 - the party will be in Hollywood. The flyer is coming soon! AHHH!!!! Given the chance, I think I could really sweep Cheyenne Jackson off his feet - or at least let him sweep me off mine.
