Here's a quick wrap-up from my first real audition in Los Angeles.

In the video below I tell my roommate Jesse about my experience at the American Laser Center and the possible pain I will go through for the price of beauty. I'm trying to grow my hair out for GMCLA's 80's show this summer (it's the second weekend in July, you should save the date). Basically, I want to have a totally awesome, totally 80’s hairdo by the last week of June. So I’m letting it all grow out without cutting it (at all) until I figure out what to do with it – but it’s seriously driving me nuts.
I had a dream last night that I suffered some fit of anguish and rage and cut off all my hair – and had to buy a wig. The entire dream was just a montage of me shopping in various wig stores. If that’s not the first sign of some form of delirium, I’m not sure what is. I guess the big question with the hair is this: Would I rather have an authentic 80’s hairstyle for the 80’s show – or – feel confident about my appearance when I approach and/or talk to guys who may be in The 122? If I can answer that question, I might be able to literally sleep at night. Alright, I'm taking suggestions for what my hairstyle should be for GMCLA's 80's show later this summer. It's getting long (or long for me, anyway) and it's driving me nuts. But if I know the hairstyle I'm shooting for, it might help pass the time. Right now, I'm torn between the style of the blonde chick from Roxette and that of Taylor Dayne... thoughts?
So - when I was home, I was telling my dad about a friend who owns property. And my dad said "You know, you should look into buying property." And - of course - I laughed. Owning property is not on my radar right now - at least it wasn't... Any sane person would have laughed off the remark and not given it another thought. However, in the past two days, I have found myself thinking "I really should know more about purchasing property - just to know." or "If I found the right place at the right price, it might be roughly the same as my monthly rent." These seem to me to be things that first-time property owners think. But then again, how would I know? I'm not a first-time property owner... yet! Alright, I'm sorry to have another post about my hair - but seriously - it's so long in the back. I'm not sure I will make it to July without cutting it. I'm sorry GMCLA brothers, but I might not be able to pull off an official 80's hairstyle if this keeps up!
Alright - I'm giving "Surf Hair" one more chance. Not to mention, I spent money on this hair product, so I feel I should use it... right? The problem is this - my hair is longer than it usually is. I'm trying to grow it out a bit to get a crazy 80's hairstyle for GMCLA's 80's concert this summer (which you should totally come to). So I need to let it grow - and it's starting to enter that awkward phase where I'm not too sure what to do with it. PLUS - I could swear that the sides and back are growing faster than the top - I have a pre-mullet in the making, and that wasn't my original intention. Ok - off to work. Happy Tuesday. |
