Anyway - to celebrate I watched four episodes of Star Trek: Enterprise tonight. (SUCH an exciting life I lead...)
I talked to my sister on the phone tonight - and we started talking about her oldest son (who is 5 years old). And apparently, he's a huge Star Wars fan now. And I wanted so badly to rub it in her face how much she made fun of me for being a huge nerd when we were younger - and now she has to research all the aspects of nerddom to foster this new phase in her son's life. I find it very funny.

Oh Stargate Universe. I think you're great. I'm really upset that I only have four more episodes to watch before I'm done with you forever. Give my regards to Netflix for streaming you. I hope you don't poorly or I'll probably delete this post - but for now, let's just let these feelings go where they will.
(Don't worry Battlestar Galactica - you're still my favorite. And I miss you so much it hurts sometimes.) Dear Potential 122-er, I’m sorry. I lied. I’m a horrible liar – but I did it. I put in the “About Steve” page that I was “a bit of a sci-fi nerd.” And that’s just not true. I’m actually “(quite) a bit of a sci-fi nerd.” Does this mean that I go to Comic-Con’s and only have conversations about Transwarp Drives? No. I’ve only walked past a Comic-Con (because I didn’t have tickets – here’s the pic.) And I only have brief conversations about Transwarp Drives because, well, let’s be honest, it’s an unreliable system in Federation starships.
Anyway – I’m getting away from the main point of this post. I’m a sci-fi nerd. There it is. I said it. Today was colder than it has been lately in LA. It would have been the perfect day to wear my new Nebraska hoody, but I left it at home like a schmuck. In this picture, I can't tell if I'm trying to block a tackle or performing my favorite Diana Ross song.
In any case, that is my football. I actually own a football - for real. Does that give a me a few points for masculinity? (Also - if you're wondering, that is a poster calling for mechanics to work on Vipers. Oh BSG, I miss you dearly.) Game of Thrones started tonight on HBO. I'm upset that I don't get HBO (or cable, for that matter) to watch it. But at the same time, I'm ok with it - because I will wait for it to come out on DVD and then just watch it all at once (instead of having to wait for next week, etc.). And besides, I already read the book. It's not like I don't know what's going to happen.
But, I will be slightly jealous when everyone is talking about it at work tomorrow. I don't like feeling left out of conversations. I have been reading the book "Game Of Thrones" - and I just finished last night. It was really good - and I highly recommend it. I am very excited for the HBO show coming out this weekend. They were promoting the show at Hollywood & Highland yesterday with The Iron Throne - and I decided I needed my picture taken... ... twice.
I had dinner tonight with some friends at Doughboys (which is awesome, btw) and ate jambalaya - it was so good. But I'm totally going into a food coma - so I'm glad I'm home and getting ready for bed.
I'm also exhausted because we had rehearsal last night - the concert is this weekend, and I'm really excited and very nervous for it. It will be nice to perform again - and it will also be nice to have this concert over so we can start learning new music. Every rehearsal we have, I find myself daydreaming about becoming a music teacher. It was what I was going to go to college for before I got accepted into Emerson. Anyway, I just wonder how different my life would be if I was a music teacher - still most likely living in Central Nebraska. It would just be so different. First - my numbers wouldn't be 122, they would be like 7 (if even) - so I should be thankful for that. Second - I would be closer to family which can be both good and bad (especially with how cranky I would be only having 7 potential matches in a search area roughly 77,400 square miles). Alright - enough about that. Let's talk about the site! It's up - and I'm actively promoting it. I'm both extremely nervous and extremely excited about that. I need to get the business cards to hand out now. Also, I sent an email to the folks at Weebly because the text on the home page isn't doing what I want it to do. So we'll see if that gets sorted out. Other than that text issue and me needing to update the blog more, I think the site is seriously ready to go. I mean, sure, I wish the Twitter feed immediately to the right of this post was the correct size, but I don't know how to fix that either. I'll learn. I will. In the meantime - I'm excited for the "Game of Thrones" miniseries. I need to finish the book first though. Your Steve Scott fact of the day is that I like Sci-Fi books and I like to finish them before watching the movie or TV show. If this sounds like something you would enjoy hearing about over coffee - send me a message on the Contact Steve page! |
