You deserve much more than this blog post as a thank you - but we're in a recession.
Seriously, though - thank you.

Alright, the site has been up for a week now and I wanted to take a quick moment to thank all my friends who helped me (and continue to help me) with it.
You deserve much more than this blog post as a thank you - but we're in a recession. Seriously, though - thank you.

I had dinner tonight with some friends at Doughboys (which is awesome, btw) and ate jambalaya - it was so good. But I'm totally going into a food coma - so I'm glad I'm home and getting ready for bed.
I'm also exhausted because we had rehearsal last night - the concert is this weekend, and I'm really excited and very nervous for it. It will be nice to perform again - and it will also be nice to have this concert over so we can start learning new music. Every rehearsal we have, I find myself daydreaming about becoming a music teacher. It was what I was going to go to college for before I got accepted into Emerson. Anyway, I just wonder how different my life would be if I was a music teacher - still most likely living in Central Nebraska. It would just be so different. First - my numbers wouldn't be 122, they would be like 7 (if even) - so I should be thankful for that. Second - I would be closer to family which can be both good and bad (especially with how cranky I would be only having 7 potential matches in a search area roughly 77,400 square miles). Alright - enough about that. Let's talk about the site! It's up - and I'm actively promoting it. I'm both extremely nervous and extremely excited about that. I need to get the business cards to hand out now. Also, I sent an email to the folks at Weebly because the text on the home page isn't doing what I want it to do. So we'll see if that gets sorted out. Other than that text issue and me needing to update the blog more, I think the site is seriously ready to go. I mean, sure, I wish the Twitter feed immediately to the right of this post was the correct size, but I don't know how to fix that either. I'll learn. I will. In the meantime - I'm excited for the "Game of Thrones" miniseries. I need to finish the book first though. Your Steve Scott fact of the day is that I like Sci-Fi books and I like to finish them before watching the movie or TV show. If this sounds like something you would enjoy hearing about over coffee - send me a message on the Contact Steve page! Well, I don't think there is really much else to do with the site other than promote it. So that's a good thing. I've started to spread the word a little bit - but I need to get the business cards and really start getting the word out. Next weekend is my first concert with the Gay Men's Chorus - and I'm really nervous. But at the same time, I'm really excited to actually perform - in front of people - on a stage - who want to see me perform (or at least want to see the group of which I'm a part perform, if not me specifically). Also - I received my "Get Equal" iPhone case today - and I'm really excited about that. I will be sporting that quite proudly. I also purchased a button to put on my equality hat. Buy yours or find out more at www.getequal.org. And that is the only exciting news I have for today. Wow - this blog post is really boring. Does that say something about my life? I think I'll just pour myself a bourbon and watch The Birdcage. So it's St. Patrick's Day - my family is pretty big into the Irish culture, which I find interesting since our last name is Scott (which would make us more Scottish), but regardless. My family = big fans of anything Irish. And sure, my great-grandparents are "off the boat" Irish - so it's the culture that my grandparents and obviously then parents grew up in - so I guess I understand. Why am I rambling? Anyway - here's what I wore today. It's a green Utilikilt, a clover belt buckle, and my grandfather's tie (complete with shamrocks, and leprechaun pipes and hats) But enough about me, let's talk about the site and the search: I'm still trying to figure out the RSS Feed for the blog here. I think I'd rather link this sucker to a Tumblr account - but can't seem to get it right. Maybe I'm just being an idiot and should embrace this blog roll instead. Who knows. In the meantime, I keep telling more and more people about the site - and it's so far gotten some pretty good reviews. Now the test about whether or not it will get me a date (or more...). (Man, this picture is not a good picture of me. Not only because of the demon eyes, but did I really need to keep my ID badge on for it? But damn - I got that windsor knot just right, didn't I?) So I joined a church choir - which is great. And then immediately following the Mass, I went and purchased two gay books from the Borders that's going out of business in Sherman Oaks. I got a Stonewall history book (which is huge) and then a book about gay dating called Dynamic Duos. So, that's a classy way to end the night after going to church, right?
Also - I was pretty sure I had this thing redirected correctly so that all anyone had to do was go to www.datestevescott.com and they would be directed to this site - but they are still being directed to the old site... which is upsetting. Anyway, I need to start reading this gay dating book - maybe it will help me unlock some secrets that will work here (other than the whole "getting the site to redirect where it's supposed to" thing...)
